When searching for a new SUV, you may have several questions that you ask yourself:

  • Does it have plenty of room inside?
  • Are there features that I'll enjoy?
  • How does the vehicle handle on the road?

Our team at Audi North Miami will not only help answer those questions, but we'll also see how two popular luxury models-the Q5 and X3-differ in those responses.

Learn all about these vehicles in our Audi Q5 vs. BMW X3 comparison, then contact us to take a test drive near Miami, Hollywood, or Miami Beach.

Cabin Space & Amenities

The Audi Q5 and 2019 BMW X3 offer lots of space for five people. However, you may find yourself a bit more comfortable in the Q5.

The Audi Q5 comes with 41 inches of front legroom and 37.8 inches of rear legroom-making even your taller passengers happy. The X3, meanwhile, has just 40.3 inches of front legroom and 36.4 inches of rear legroom.

However, each vehicle offers many amenities to help keep everyone comfortable, including:

  • Heated and ventilated front seats
  • Heated rear seats
  • Heated steering wheel

So, no matter what the temperature is like outside, it's inside that you can warm up or cool down quickly with just the touch of a button.

Winner: Audi Q5, for offering more passenger room.

2019 Q5 vs 2019 X3 Technologies

These luxury models also offer tons of cutting-edge technologies to help keep you connected and entertained on every commute.

For instance, they both come standard with HD Radio™. Not only do you get clearer signals from your AM and FM stations, but you also get extra channels for even more listening enjoyment.

The Audi Q5 also comes standard with Apple CarPlay® and Google™ Android Auto™. These smartphone integration features allow you to access your favorite mobile apps without messing with your phone while driving. Just plug your phone into the vehicle's USB port, and various apps will appear on the 7-inch MMI® center infotainment display.

Unfortunately, the BMW X3 only offers Apple CarPlay™ in an options package and doesn't offer Android Auto™ at all. Additionally, Apple CarPlay™ is only available as a 1-year trial, and not a permanent feature like in the Audi vehicle.

Winner: The 2019 Q5, for having more standard technologies.

Q5 vs X3 Performance Specs

The 2019 Q5 is both practical and fun to drive, staying composed around turns while also maintaining a comfortable ride.

It comes with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that delivers 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. Not only is the vehicle quite powerful, but it also lets you tailor your performance through Audi drive select. Choose between five modes, such as Comfort and Dynamic, to alter the ride to your liking.

Furthermore, the Q5 comes standard in quattro® all-wheel drive (AWD) with ultra® technology. This system can proactively distribute torque to switch between front-wheel drive to AWD as needed, helping to give you maximum grip on slick surfaces.

The 2019 X3 is also a fun car to drive, with sharp steering and nimble handling. It comes with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, too, that produces 248 horsepower like the Audi model. However, it delivers just 258 lb-ft of torque, so it's not quite as powerful as the Q5.

However, it does give you optimum stability with its AWD system. Unfortunately, that system doesn't come standard.

Winner: The Q5, with it being more powerful and coming standard in all-wheel drive.

2019 Audi Q5 vs 2019 BMW X3: Verdict

There's no doubt that the BMX X3 is an impressive vehicle. However, it's the Audi Q5 that wins in every category we mentioned above.
