Audi and BMW are popular German brands that offer high-quality, feature-rich models. You may be wondering, though, which one you can count on more for your trips around Miami, Hollywood, and Miami Beach.
To help address that inquiry, we created this Audi vs. BMW reliability comparison. Read through our helpful guide below, and feel free to contact us at Audi North Miami with any questions you may have.
Audi vs BMW Safety Ratings
Audi and BMW provide great peace of mind to drivers in Florida and beyond. That's because their models have been tested by respected organizations like the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
This nonprofit dedicates itself to reducing losses from vehicle crashes-be it property damage, injury, or death. They do this through exhaustive testing in categories such as crashworthiness for:
- Side
- Small overlap front on the driver and front-passenger sides
- Moderate overlap front
Six Audi models earned high praise for their strength and overall safety. Four models received a 2019Â TOP SAFETY PICK, including the A3 and Q8. Two models, the A6 and Q3, received a 2019Â TOP SAFETY PICK+Â rating.
Meanwhile, BMW had just five models earn commendations from the IIHS. Plus, only one received a 2019Â TOP SAFETY PICKÂ rating.
Safety Features in Audi vs BMW Models
Not only do Audi and BMW models earn respectable safety ratings, they're also equipped with a plethora of features for your peace of mind.
Take the Audi Q3 and BMW X3, for example. They each come standard with features like forward collision warning, which will warn when you're getting too close to a vehicle, person, or object. In this Q3, it's known as Audi pre sense® front.
They also both offer park assist. This system will find a suitable parking spot and steer you into it. You just have to control the brake and gas pedals while the vehicle does the rest. However, while this feature comes in the highest trim level of the Q3, you'll need to purchase an option package to get it in the X3.
The Audi vehicles also offers a top view camera. There are four wide-angle cameras that show everything around the vehicle. It'll then display those views on the MMI® touch response system, so you can easily travel in reverse.
Unfortunately, the BMW doesn't offer anything like the top view camera system.
Dependable Performance
The concept of reliability goes beyond safety. The way a vehicle handles the road can also give you great peace of mind.
To illustrate this point, we'll compare the Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series. These small luxury sedans are big on performance, from their power and fuel efficiency to the grip they provide on different surfaces.
The A4 comes standard with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that delivers 188 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. It also helps the vehicle achieve an EPA-estimated 27 city/35 highway MPG*-the ideal balance of power and efficiency.
Meanwhile, the 3 Series earns an EPA-estimated 26 city MPG. If your commutes are mostly in stop-and-go traffic, you may prefer the Audi model.
However, both sedans offer all-wheel drive (quattro® in the A3 and xDrive in the 3 Series). When these systems are in place, you'll have optimum grip for those slippery streets.
Which Luxury Brand Is More Reliable?
When it comes to Audi vs. BMW, these brands are pretty neck and neck. However, Audi wins out on its safety ratings and features.
